Star Wars New Eras

newera

It might sound like a generalization, but every male I’ve ever met has professed to me their love…for Star Wars. It seems to me that George Lucas was the casa nova for boys and men world over. Star Wars has been absolutely everywhere for a number of years, from tooth brushes to lunchboxes! They’ve decided however, to seek allies in the streetwear realm, after collaborating with Adidas and all number of other clothing lines.

The latest in collaborations is the quintessential New Era. A collection of Star Wars characters are set to appear on New Era baseball caps. As there is no word on a release date, keep your eyes peeled for esoteric logos from the Star War franchise. If all else fails just know you’ve hit the jackpot when you find New Eras that resemble Chewbacca or C-P30!

Okay, I’ll admit it, I’ve never seen Star Wars. SHOCK HORROR! But despite this it never fails at giving me endless ‘lols’. From Family Guy to the infamous Star Wars Kid, take a look at these gems:

EXCELLENT.

Hundreds x DeLorean

“Wait a munite, Doc. Are you telling me that you built a time machine… out of a DeLorean?!”

Immortalized by the Back to the Future film franchise, and shrouded in urban mythology, DeLorean has recently seen a resurgence in mainstream culture, from Kanye West album covers to Kobe Bryant sneaker campaigns.

kanyedelorean

The trademark gull wing doors, stainless steel exterior, and angular body have taken their place in automotive history, not only for the car’s signature design, but for the resulting controversy in founder John DeLorean’s drug trafficking charges and other legal and criminal troubles.

As a result, DeLorean Motor Co. had an abbreviated life and only one car model made it off the assembly line. Rumored to be around 9,000 total produced and even less still in existence: The DMC-12.

If you’ve been tuned into The Hundreds website, you might already be anticipating this special collection of T-shirts and baseball caps. They’ve teamed up with the DeLorean Motor Company exclusively to pay homage to an iconic automobile. Each T-shirt is a different take on DeLorean and DMC-12 from a The Hundreds perspective, mirroring various Southern California car culture tees, while still maintaining an appealing design for customer and DMC enthusiast alike.

The New Era baseball cap is also a salute to DMC’s aesthetic. The 3 Adam Bomb emblems are indicative of the 3 letters on the car’s grill, and the undervisor pattern is derived from the DMC-12’s familiar back taillights.

“Where we’re going we don’t need roads!”

But not only have they made a mass of DMC collab clothing and caps, they also collaborated to create the ultimate The Hundreds x DeLorean baby:

Two words: HOLY SMOKES.

Hundreds - Badam launch

Who’s Badam? If our buddy Adam is a relatively easy-going, nice, happy incendiary device, Badam resides all the way at the opposite end of the spectrum. Fresh from The Hundreds just like that time I was dumbfounded when I realized there was a Wario to Mario. Badam is Adam’s polar opposite.

badam

Badam always looks like he’s seen better days, thanks to his bloodshot eyes and his sour expression.

Join us as we celebrate the dark side of the force with this limited edition Badam tee and Badam New Era fitted hat release. And the whole world has to answer right now, just to tell you once again, who’s Badam…

New Era x Loweres

The Hundreds featured a sweet little blog about a set of New Era’s they found via ONSPOTZ this week. ONSPOTZ house brand Loweres have released two different coloured plaid 59Fifty Fitted New Eras.

5

Anything plaid is sure to grab my eye, but these “Learn from Yesterday” New Eras feature an motivational piece of script under the bill.

6

The script says: Learn from yesterday, love for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is to not stop questioning.

Hundreds x Hall Of Fame

I saw this feed on The Hundreds and I love the look of the new HOF caps. The fabric of these New Era’s are slick:

halloffame

Hall of Fame hits the fitted fanatics with their latest 59Fifty. The crew over on Fairfax in Los Angeles takes the H Lightning Logo and throws it against a nubuck/suede textile. The new material gives the fitted a buttery feel and available in red, teal, and black. Look out for the drop this Friday in store and online.

IN4MATION x New Era

in4mation-newera-fitted-baseball-cap-59fifty-summer09-3

In terms of sleek, simple and effective, In4mation are amazing at their use of text catchphrases and logos. Its to the point, focus on the colors, and very effective. Lack of ingenuity could be touted, but I think it is a case of brand management knowing how to limit graphics effectively. The caps say what they are meant to say, aren’t pretentious and are true to the brand In4mation has produced.

10Deep x New Era

10deep-kingofgears-newera-fitted-baseball-cap-59fifty_4

This cap deserves a post of its own rather than being bunched into a catch up post, an incredible collaboration between 10Deep and New Era. I can hate on some of the bigger brands sometimes, as I feel that they can produce second rate product and yet still achieve ridiculous hype prices from streetwear kids. I have been dubious about a few of 10Deeps past collections, and not sure what direction they are going in, but it is evident from this cap that they can still produce immaculate product. The cap looks as though it features the 10 screen printed on the underbrim, with two location embroidary’s. It’s a thing of beauty.
