Thanks to Peter Blundy getting me hooked up with his card reader, I eventually managed to get the rest of my snaps from my America trip onto my mac. I thought I’d throw up a few blogs of a few of my favourite places…and the first place blessed enough to get a mention is Abbot Kinney Venice Beach. Massive shout out to Ryan at EstateLA who’s shopfront resides over there (although not for too much longer as he looks for a new place). It was sweet to hang out around Venice for a little while, drink some good coffee and enjoy the sun.

I received my orders from Ranui that I must complete while in Japan, Number 1 on the list was to find a type of cafe where the girls who serve you are dressed in wierd outfits. This is the result of one of Ranui’s research methods into japanese culture, and you’ll have to ask him what the program was called as I can’t remember.

So to get to this cafe I ended up walking around Nipponbashi, and then asking an overtly excitable sales assistant in a clothes shop if there were any Maid Cafe’s about and she gave me some simple directions and then sent me out the back of her shop to get there. I have to admit that there were times when I thought that I may have been going to a brothel….but alas…i wasn’t.

I got to the cafe and its pretty normal, apart from the funnily dressed girls, and then the 10% of customers who are utter freaks and are pretty dang scary. They pay like a fiver to get a picture with the maids, and ring bells to call them over, and collect maid cards with the girls in different clothing outfits etc. Wierd. But the majority of people in there are totally normal, just going in for the fact that its a cafe and does good iced coffee.

It looks as if Estate LA are going to be dropping the second edition of their infamous J3 fitted baseball cap soon. Keep a look out on their website if you’re after one.

This is the up and coming collaboration from Triumvir and Estate LA, which was designed by Bill Dennis. The cap will be a part of their Spring ‘09 Collection, and here’s the clever part….when flipped 180 degrees, the embroidered text still reads TRIUMVIR. Very very nice. The cap is only available as a snap back, and a few people will be upset about that….but snapbacks are huge this year, and i’m definitely shedding no tears. As usual, the top quality work from Estate on the production. Props people… [strictlyfitteds]

Estate LA recently dropped a limited colorway of their Classic fitted baseball cap. The cap features a Grey crown with Estate embroidered in Light Blue, Yellow stars and a Black brim. This release is exclusive to their Denver pop-up store and Flagship store.
