RISE x Duane J. Moyle

12:12 pm RISE Worldwide

Ok, so before you freak out and think RISE has gone satanic on you in our latest collab, a bit of introduction is necessary.

RISE is collaborating with a fellow kiwi artist - Duane Moyle - to produce some super-limited edition tees. Duane is a fine arts graduate, based in London, and has some rather intriguing ideas on the perception of beauty in our image-saturated age. Duane’s latest collection of pieces juxtaposes a classical Renaissance/Pastoral aesthetic against a foreground of pop cultural 21st Century desire.

The logo on the front of the tee pictured below is actually his signature which he painstakingly paints on his pieces. The whole logo, imbued with seeming mystic symbolism, is nothing more than elaborate frame for his mirrored signature in the centre. The point of the signature logo is to make a statement on the way that we frame beauty in this age and attempt to pull meaning out of design because it is lavishly framed. The actual meaning of the logo is nothing more than an artists mark. It signifies what you will it to signify. In truth, as the reverse of the tee suggests, beauty (or perception) is indeed in the eye of the beholder, and it’s your perception that vilifies or glorifies this design.

Personally, I find Duane’s discipline singularly inspiring and well worth a look. If you want something customised for yourself then please feel free to contact him via his website - www.moylepainting.com - he would love to hear from you. If you want to see his work in the flesh, he will be holding an exhibition in a few weeks time, so go along and say RISE sent you.

These tees will be available online in about a month, to coincide with his gallery showing.

Peace from RISE.
